The PLEX-ID STR CODIS Core Loci v2.0 Assay is now available!
In addition to providing alleles the PLEX-ID STR CODIS Core Loci v2.0 Assay also detects SNPs, which provides additional diversity within many of the STR loci, thus increasing the discriminatory power of the loci.
Average Heterozygosity and Discriminating Power for Five Polymorphic STR Loci* using PLEX-ID Compared to Conventional Length-Based Allele Genotyping.

Results shown are an aggregate of 587 samples from three major US populations (Caucasian, n = 181, African American, n = 213, Hispanic, n = 193). There was a 136% increase in the number of observed alleles over five polymorphic loci in three populations using mass spectrometry
* The five listed loci have a relatively high number of sequence polymorphisms within common alleles. D21S11 also has a relatively large number of polymorphic alleles, and D7S820 has a common T/A SNP adjacent to the repeat motif that nearly doubles the number of observed alleles using the PLEX-ID.
