Integrated Workflow
The Ibis T5000™ Biosensor System features a streamlined workflow that is common to all applications on the system. The hardware and analysis functions are fully integrated and optimized so that a user without specialized expertise can generate answers in fewer than five hours from receipt of sample.
Ibis has developed a number of sample preparation methods for its biosensor system. Using standard commercial methods, the user first collects a sample (e.g., throat swab, nasal wash, blood, soil), extracts the DNA, and then preps the sample and carries out PCR amplification. Back-end processes - performed on the Ibis T5000 - include desalting, mass spectrometry, signal analysis, and results reporting.

By separating the front-end and back-end processes, Ibis Biosciences can meet the needs of diverse customers while minimizing and simplifying the instrumentation. Ibis also makes available extensive automation options.
