Amplicon Reference Database

The Amplicon Reference Database mediates the activities of the components by recording information throughout the workflow. This bioinformatics information relates base compositions to organisms for the primer sets in Ibis assays. The data that populates the database is prepared off-line and a read-only version is provided with each Ibis T5000™ Biosensor System.

The Amplicon Reference Database is an expanding resource and Ibis expects to continue to add base compositions for organisms and primer sets, enhancing Ibis´ ability to help identify an even broader range of organisms. Each component of the Ibis T5000 Biosensor System is designed to interact with the database to acquire or record information and the database becomes a historical repository of assets as assays are performed. This system could potentially serve as a central reference for real-time detection of emergent epidemics.
