A key element of the Ibis T5000™ Biosensor System is a curated database of genomic information that associates base composition with identity for thousands of organisms. Ibis Biosciences works closely with its customers and partners to maintain the database with sequence information for both current and emerging pathogens.
The Ibis T5000 Biosensor System generates base composition values from amplification of several genetic regions in parallel. Organisms consistent with the observed base composition are identified from the amplicon database. A joint least-square algorithm correlates potential organism identifications across multiple regions using a triangulation method.
